Not long ago Xiaomi released a truly bezel-less smartphone having an impressive 93% screen to body ratio. While Xiaomi called it a concept phone it created quite a buzz in the tech industry. Looks like now everyone wants to have their take on the bezel-less smartphone. Recently Lenovo also released their own Bezel-less phone Zuk Edge. Though the bezels aren’t as small as the Xiaomi Mi Mix, Lenovo was able to maintain 86.4% screen-to-body ratio. There have been reports of Samsung and Apple to introduce Bezel-less Galaxy S8 and iPhone 8 in 2017. The latest leaks suggest that Meizu is also working on a bezel-less smartphone of their own.
The alleged upcoming Meizu flagship phone “Meizu Legent” is rumored to have a bezel-less design. However, the lake of bezels is not the only trait that is going to attract people. As you can see in the sketches below, Meizu has combined the bezel-less display of Xiaomi Mi Mix, the curved screen of the Galaxy S7 and the reversible camera of the Oppo N1 to make an attractive device. Xiaomi was able to completely remove the top bezel by bringing the front camera down to the bottom. While it did make room for more screen at the top, the front camera at the bottom is a little awkward to use. Meizu is apparently trying to address that issue by placing a reversible camera at the back.
As for the specs goes, ‘Meizu Legent’ is rumored to sport a 5.5 QHDcurved display, a fingerprint scanner on the front embedded into the physical home button. A 16MP reversible camera on the back will work as both the main camera and the selfie camera. Under the hood, the phone will be powered by Samsung’s Exynos 8893 processor (which is the same processor that powered the Samsung Galaxy Note 7). In addition to that, the phone will come with 6GB of RAM and 64GB or 128GB internal storage. The 3400mAh battery is rumored to keep the device alive. On the software front, the phone will come with Flyme 6OS on top on Android 7.0 Nougat.
