Sky IM-100 is a unique phone from Pantech with a jogwheel

Pantech is a troubled South Korean phone manufacturer who  sells smartphones mainly in its native country South Korea. The company had gone into a hibernating period to restructure itself because the company has had troubles selling phones due to tough competition from Samsung and LG on its home turf. Now after 20 months of restructuring the phone manufacturer is back with a unique and gorgeous looking budget phone, Sky IM-100.

The new handset from Pantech sports a 5.15″ LCD display with a resolution of 1080 x 1920. The phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor. In the memory department, the phone has a modest  2 GB of RAM and 32 of internal storage. There is a 3000 mAh battery in which will provides enough power to get you through a day.

It is not the specs that we are interested in, it is the unique design that has piqued our curiosity. The phone features an edgy design with an old fashioned jog wheel on the right side of the back. The Jog Wheel replace the volume rocker of the phone. But, adjusting the volume is not the only function that it performs. The jog wheel can be used to take photos, switch songs, forward and backward videos. It can also be used as a selector when pressed inwards. Watch the video below to see how the jogwheel works.

The phone comes with a matching portable Bluetooth speaker which doubles as a wireless charger. The design of the speaker is also interesting, it also features that cool jog wheel. There is an LED light on the top of the speaker. You can change the color of the LED light using an app on the phone. Pantech is expecting to sell at least 300,000 units through carriers at a price of $390.
